There is nothing like a crisis to accelerate a trend and whilst the world has been busy fighting a pandemic, it has become clear that it will have made a visible impact on the development and adoption of technology. 

On 21 October 2020, Digital Women Wales (DWW) will explore the stories of two tech businesses who, like the rest of us, have been through some tough times. Whilst none of us are out of the woods yet, companies - both large and small - have been working hard to consider their markets and offerings, make some agile decisions and ensure they are well positioned to thrive.

Stephanie Eden | Head of Global R&T Cooperation's and External Funding, Airbus

Stephanie has worked for Airbus Defence and Space for 21 years, she started as a Business Graduate after studying Technology Management at Bradford University and is now on the Engineering Leadership Team for Airbus Defence and Space. During this time Stephanie has worked in many functions across the business.

Today, Stephanie is responsible for maximizing the investment Airbus Defence and Space make in technology through R&T Cooperation’s with academia, R&T organisations and public funding bodies. 

Complementary to this role, Stephanie is an Executive Committee Member of Airbus Endeavr - a Welsh Government and Airbus initiative that collaborates with academia and SMEs in Wales on early-stage research that addresses industry needs.

Heba Bevan OBE | CEO & Founder, Utterberry Ltd

Heba is the CEO and founder of UtterBerry Ltd, a supplier of a patented intelligent wireless sensor system. She is a highly motivated business leader with a track record of technical innovation and technology deployment on large infrastructure and construction projects. 

Heba studied electronics and computer engineering. Upon graduation she worked as a central processing unit engineer for ARM, later returning to academia to do her PhD in low power wireless sensor networks. 

Heba has won many awards including an OBE for her contributions to technology, innovation, and STEM education 2018 and features in the Top 100 most Influential women UK Tech 2020.
