Wales Academic Space Partnership

Nick Crew, Chief Operating Officer of Airbus Endeavr and Chair of WASP and Paul Jones, Welsh Government, attended the latest meeting of the Wales Academic Space Partnership on Wednesday 29 May 2019. 

The visit to the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre in Llandbedr, Gwynedd, North Wales provided an opportunity for members to review the potential for aerospace test and verification at the site. A progress review will be shared in due course.

Snowdonia Aerospace LLP

Overview

The Snowdonia Aerospace Centre at the Llanbedr Airfield is proposing to develop the site into a spaceport in parallel with its current core and complimentary activities as a dedicated Centre of Excellence for R&D and testing of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Robotics and EmergingTechnologies.

Products and Services 

Operational airfield together with associated facilities for :

  • The testing & evaluation of unmanned air systems / drones.

  • Use as a spaceport for satellite launch & spaceflight systems

  • A range of other aerospace / aviation uses

Market Experience

Extensive experience (along with Qinetiq teaming partner) of operating airfield services and unmanned air systems trials and general aerospace operations.
